Welcome to INDOSOW
INDOSOW - International Doctoral Studies in Social Work is the first joint European doctoral programme which offers postgraduate students the opportunity to take part in an international interdisciplinary study of social work, welfare systems and social policies. The programme provides the chance for a comparative study of similarities and differences of welfare regimes in the EU countries and beyond. The basic principles behind the programme are the principles of social justice, inclusion, anti-discriminatory action, the right of self-determination and agency. One of the most important goals of the programme is to establish an academic network, which will be represented in the international community by academics, practitioners, user groups and groups of carers, serving both as a source of reflexive knowledge and a foundation of good practice. The main focus ofthe doctoral study lies on research work, interdisciplinary study, and cooperation of internationally renowned local and foreign experts. The programme is based on the internationalisation and harmonization of the field of higher education in Europe with the emphasis on providing the international dimension and high standards of higher education. The objective of the new joint international programmes is to bring together the expertise and knowledge of numerous universities from various countries and gradually build a common European higher education area which will provide students with more opportunities to participate in international cooperation and research.
